Here are the surnames of people connected with Russia. Some are prezent on our site, some are with genealogical information, some with contact information of their reprezentatives. Everything is in Russian. I won't translate it for you - it is a very big site and webmastering it takes a lot of time, but you can try any autotranslating service or find a person who knows Russian..
You can post your search message on the messageboard. I understand that it is difficult for a person who don't know Russian (there is a Russian interface there), but you can try.
When you get there, you can push the left red-brown square button:
In the upper line you are to write the head of your message. On the third line you are to write your name, or you can leave the word Guest there. Write nothing on the fourth line. And write you message in the lowest square. The message will be posted when you'll push the left lower square gray button on which it is written something like OTIIPABNTL. Don't forget to write your contact information, so that people could answer you somehow. Or you can remember the address of your message (when it appears) and vizit it to look if somebody answered.
If you wont'manage, we can post your message on this page or on the messageboard. It's free. Write Stas at mr.ghost@mail.ru and he'll post it, maybe not immediately.

CESURA - Search,

I am trying to find some information on my great grandmothers family.  I know that they came to the US in the early 1900's.  Her name as we knew it was Sophie Leppre and her fathers name was Samuel.  Her mothers name was Pauline Cesura.  My great grandmother was born on 2/20/1900.  They were from Minsk.  I would appreciate any information you could give me as it is important to me to learn of my Russian heritage and family.  Thank you. Tanya lizellis66@msn.com (February 2003).

Finding my surname on your list has prompted a long suppressed desire to investigate my family history. My name is Vladimir Mikhailovitch Marhinin the son of Mikhail Mikhailovitch  Marhinin who was born in Semipalatinsk Siberia on 14 February 1911. He was one of two sons born to his father who shares his name fully and his mother whose first names were Zina Mikhailovna but regrettably I am unable to locate her maiden name. My grandpa & the family lived for a number of years in Shanghai where he died but grandma & the boys emigrated to Brisbane, Australia. All have now passed away. My mother was Klovdia Petrovna nee Tchuhlanceff one of some 18 children born in Sarapul to Peter Petrovich Tchuhlanceff and Natali nee Alabugeff. Mum was born on 2 April 1909. She and six of her siblings fled to Harbin, China and eventually migrated to Australia. What happened to the others is largely shrouded in mystery so I am hoping that you may be able to assist me. I look forward to seeing if my enquiry meets with any responses, Wally (english equivalent of Vladimir). waldo@burnett.net.au (November 2002).

Hi, I am looking for any information on my great grandfather, name was either Cranski or Gorski from Estonia, he had 3 children, son killed in the Revolution, daughter married Niketo Wasylenko, other son Angus immigrated to Canada around 1914. Please help me find anything that will help in my search. Susan Watters searching for grandfather's relatives. susiewatters@hotmail.com (September 2002).

I am looking for any information re: my Grandfather Henry Cresco. He arrived in America on March 25,1903 at the age of 19. He told my mother stories when she was young, before he died,of escaping in a haywagon as many people were getting killed.(I think this was during the Bolshevik revolution?) We believe he may have been Jewish..my mom remembers that he used to shop Kosher. He listed Cornella Russia as his birthplace on his naturalization papers. However I can not find any reference to this city at all..maybe it wasn't a city?? I don't have a clue where to find this place, but if I could maybe I could track some relatives. Henry died when my mother was 17, and there really was never much information. We don't even have a photo that I have found yet. I am building our family tree, and would like to leave my son with information about his roots. Any help would be appreciated. Debi Lundgren. daftdeb@bis.midco.net (September 2002)
