Here are the surnames of people connected with Russia. Some are prezent on our site, some are with genealogical information, some with contact information of their reprezentatives. Everything is in Russian. I won't translate it for you - it is a very big site and webmastering it takes a lot of time, but you can try any autotranslating service or find a person who knows Russian..
You can post your search message on the messageboard. I understand that it is difficult for a person who don't know Russian (there is a Russian interface there), but you can try.
When you get there, you can push the left red-brown square button:
In the upper line you are to write the head of your message. On the third line you are to write your name, or you can leave the word Guest there. Write nothing on the fourth line. And write you message in the lowest square. The message will be posted when you'll push the left lower square gray button on which it is written something like OTIIPABNTL. Don't forget to write your contact information, so that people could answer you somehow. Or you can remember the address of your message (when it appears) and vizit it to look if somebody answered.
If you wont'manage, we can post your message on this page or on the messageboard. It's free. Write Stas at mr.ghost@mail.ru and he'll post it, maybe not immediately.

My grandfather, Tikhon Donchak, was of a family of about 8 brothers who lived on afarm close to Kharkov. He married and left Russia via Siberia and China after the Revolution before emigrating to Australia. One other brother is supposed to have emigrated to America. My aunt, Helene, corresponded with relatives up until World War 2,but all contact is now lost and forgotten by her as she is now over 80. There is not much information to go on here, but I would be interested in finding what happened to the rest of the family after my grandfather left Russia. Thanks for creating this web site - a great opportunity for anyone with Russian heritage. Paul Donchak kanaha@powerup.com.au (October 2002).

I am trying to figure out how to spell our last name. My grandparents were born in Minsk, Russia. My grandmother and father came to America, from the port of Rotterdam, The Netherlands to Ellis Island, August 1912. On the manifest, the last name was spelled DORES. My grandfather came to America in February 1909 and on his passport his name was spelled DORTS or DORTZ. Any information that you could give me about the correct way to spell this name in Russian, would be greatly appreciated. I'm anxiously awaiting your answer. Sincerely, Adriana. There was this old man which was a very good friend of our family and all I know is he was from the Ukraine.  He left in1943 or so and never saw his family again.  Does anyone know anything about the last name Dubinenko (Alexander Sam Dubinenko). bryancrystal7@netzero.net (July 2003).

I am looking for my grandmother's family, called Dubkoff/Dubcoff or similar in english. She moved to London in 1912. She lived on the outskirts of Smolensk, in a village called Roslav'l. I think it is now a city. Can you help, please. Her name was Rachel, and her parents were farmers. John johnalawrence@uku.co.uk (February 2003)

DUBROVSKI, DUBROWSKI, DUBROWSKY My ancestors moved to Denmark then settled in Scotland.  She had the surname Dubrouska and her brothers spelt their name Dubrouski.   The brothers went onto America and used the Dubrowski and Dubrowsky spelling.  It would be interesting to trace their origins.  They were all born from 1886+. and lived in Polic (not sure how to spell that name) and I believe that they were farm workers.  Is it possible to find their origins.  She married a Mitscavitch although I see that name has not been released yet.

I am looking for descendents of the Dudchik family.  I think there are a number of Dudchik’s living in Minsk, Belarus. Nicholas Dudchik, my father and his sister, Vera (Dudchik) Kolos was born on September 8, 1914 in a town called Baranovich.  Vera and my father Nicholas were born 16 years apart. John and Natalie Dudchik immigrated to New Haven, Connecticut along with my father and his sister (Nicholas and Vera). tdudchik@mindspring.com (December 2002)

I want to visit Russia this year and before I go I want to know about my grandparents. From my Mother's side: David (Naser) Slipchinsky and Sara Gerschcovich, Davids parents: Jacob Slipchinsky and Berta Zatrevo. From my Father's side: Jose, Joseph Dulman and Ethel Kazanzow from the Ukraine. I understand that he was a kind of town Mayor or some kind of important government employee during the time of the Zsar. His son Adolf Dulman was sent out of the country and emigrated to South America, Argentina. I can't find any records on anybody. Last names which could have been changed a bit are not listed in your site. The records from the boat trip to Buenos Aires were burned in 1980. I would not mind hiring someone but this person would have to have contacts in Russia. Do you have any suggestions? Dr. Monica drmonica@earthlink.net  (February 2003).
