Here are the surnames of people connected with Russia. The number of such surnames is very big, so there are four K-pages. First page is from the beginning till Kavarzin, second from Kavava till Koltsov, third from Koltun till Krichevtsov, and the fourth from Krichmar till the end. Some are prezent on our site, some are with genealogical information, some with contact information of their reprezentatives. Everything is in Russian. I won't translate it for you - it is a very big site and webmastering it takes a lot of time, but you can try any autotranslating service or find a person who knows Russian..
You can post your search message on the messageboard. I understand that it is difficult for a person who don't know Russian (there is a Russian interface there), but you can try.
When you get there, you can push the left red-brown square button:
In the upper line you are to write the head of your message. On the third line you are to write your name, or you can leave the word Guest there. Write nothing on the fourth line. And write you message in the lowest square. The message will be posted when you'll push the left lower square gray button on which it is written something like OTIIPABNTL. Don't forget to write your contact information, so that people could answer you somehow. Or you can remember the address of your message (when it appears) and vizit it to look if somebody answered.
If you wont'manage, we can post your message on this page or on the messageboard. It's free. Write Stas at mr.ghost@mail.ru and he'll post it, maybe not immediately.

I am searching for genealogical purposes and lost relatives in the Lviv oblast of western Ukraine. I also have a relatives supposidly near Odessa, Ukraine. Surnames are Kucalaba, Kawesky, Medved, Jurkiw, Wasylovych and Zalynskoho. My grandparents are Waysl Kucalaba and Anna Kawesky. Wasyl was from the villiage of Lopusznica, Lopushnitsa and Anna was from Lyatsko. Both villages are in close proximity of the town of Dobromyl or Dobrmil. This area is close to the Polish border, used to be called Galicia, part of Austria now Ukraine. Could someone tell me if there are online white pages with an English transalation in Ukraine? Is there another way I could trace these relatives via the internet? I would appreciate any help. Joann Blakeman ukrgen@sbcglobal.net (March 2003)

When my father came to the United States in 1958 from Europe via South America, he had to come up with he spelling of the last name. Because he "made one up" to approximate the sound in Russian, I cannot imply enter this name in any database. I know I have a very rich Russian background, which, as I get older, would love to connect with. I know that my grandfather fought in the 1917 revolution defending the czar, and took few gun shots, and that one of his ancestors was given some kind of noble title??? Any direction you can give me would be awesome. The English spelling of our last name is Kasanezky. (Although, I recall as a young girl that when my father would pronounce this name, there was a "t" sound at the end: like "Kasanyetzy.")  Any hope for me??? Spasiba!! Liz Alexander Coordinator Fleishman-Hillard Creative (314) 982-0298 alexandl@fleishman.com  (December 2002).

I want to visit Russia this year and before I go I want to know about my grandparents. From my Mother's side: David (Naser) Slipchinsky and Sara Gerschcovich, Davids parents: Jacob Slipchinsky and Berta Zatrevo. From my Father's side: Jose, Joseph Dulman and Ethel Kazanzow from the Ukraine. I understand that he was a kind of town Mayor or some kind of important government employee during the time of the Zsar. His son Adolf Dulman was sent out of the country and emigrated to South America, Argentina. I can't find any records on anybody. Last names which could have been changed a bit are not listed in your site. The records from the boat trip to Buenos Aires were burned in 1980. I would not mind hiring someone but this person would have to have contacts in Russia. Do you have any suggestions? Dr. Monica drmonica@earthlink.net  (February 2003).

Hi I'm looking for any information on relatives of my grandfather (Alexander Kibanoff) and his brother (Simeon Kibanoff). They went to the Philippines in the 1930s to live there in Negros, Occidental. They have already died a long time ago but I'd like to trace my roots and see if there are still any relatives of ours who will remember the Kibanoff brothers. I was told they hail from Perm or is it Vladivostok. The information I have about them is just sketchy but I'd like to trace my Russian ancestry. I want to know where they lived, how they lived, did they have relatives they left in Russia. Any information or leads will be appreciated. Thanks. Alexander S. Kibanoff III ASKIBANOFF@pldt.com.ph (September 2003).

The Kobro family originates from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany. My branch of the family came to Norway about the year 1700. Another branch went to Russia, settled there and was raised to nobility by czar Alexander I in 1824. Katarina Kobro, a Russian/Polish artist, b.26.01.1898 in Moscow, d.21.02.1951 in Lodz Poland. Father: Micolaj von Kobro. Mother: Eugenia Rozanowa. I would be happy to learn more about Katarinas Russian family and ancestors.

Hello, I am trying to find any information about my grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kolesnik of Brooklyn N.Y. My father recently passed away and we have no information about them or my family history. They are buried in a cemetery in New York but we are not sure where? We searched the Ukrainian Orthodox burial records but found none. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. David Kolesnik Dhira3133@aol.com (March 2003).

I am researching my family name Kolkin.  My grandfather came to the United States in 1911 -- Alek Kolkin (I do not know his father's name -- did Jews use patronymic in their names then?). Alek lived in Vitebsk, and I have discovered that most of the Kolkins in the United States are descended from people who came from Vitebsk. Michael Kaulkin. San Francicso, Ca.
